Michael G. Oleinik is an experienced IP litigator and a registered patent attorney who focuses on patent prosecution and all forms of adversarial proceedings, including patent, copyright, and trademark litigation.


Prior to joining the firm, Michael worked at various large firms where he performed IP and commercial litigation and acted as lead counsel in several matters involving Fortune 500 corporations.  Michael has substantial experience in patent prosecution, patent portfolio management, and license drafting and negotiations. 

Michael also has experience with the management, defense, and preparation of standard-essential patents, including for the 3GPP consortium, the Blu-Ray Disc Association, and the Joint Electron Device Engineering Counsel (JEDEC). Michael has further participated in USITC and FTC matters and has represented major corporations in reexamination and interference proceedings before the USPTO.


Before his legal career, Michael was an electrical engineer employed with Western Digital. There, he performed transistor-level integrated circuit design for high-speed networking applications. As an attorney, Michael has had substantial exposure to technologies like 5G communications, the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, machine learning, video and audio encoding, electric vehicles, wireless alarms, medical devices, semiconductor fabrication and microelectronic circuits.
